Friends and Family

When you’re thinking about what you want to do with your life, friends and family are a great resource. They can give you information about things like jobs, school, and traveling to other parts of the world. They’ve done a lot of learning in their lives, and you can use it to decide what you want to do with yours. Friends and family have many things in common, while they are not the same relationships and every relationship is essential for a happy life.

Nowadays, many people would like to divorce with their partner because of different characters or the money problems. I have already realized that it is difficult to get a decent job and society gets cutthroat. However, I do not agree with the fact that most of the suffered people are willing to getting divorce with partner. If they do that, there are many negative ways to children and the both of them.

First of all, it would affect children in negative ways. Basically, when they grow up ...

Why am I crazy about American dramas?

My first encounter with American dramas I can remember was sometime in the middle of 1980s when MacGyver was aired with huge popularity in Korea. Everybody loved the blond guy because the story was totally new to us. The way MacGyver figures out getting out of trouble amazed TV viewers everytime. It has produced new metaphors in Korean; We call someone who is good at DIY- things MacGyver, and the red swiss knife which he often used for all purpose ...

Marriage and Happiness

I have already been married for 8 years. It is really true that time flies fast. Marriage was another beginning and an opportunity to extend wings freely for me. Unmarried people are dreaming happy marriage lives and even married people are struggling to keep their marriage lives happy. I am one of them who are struggling not to lose happy marriage life.

Right before getting married, during courtship, usually women take positions of queens. ...

We had a lot of obstacles in our life. Especially changing time for something we have to do is one of the difficult situations However, I think that People try to avoid from it even though they can get it over by themselves. Plus, we have known that we should change what we have when we do something different but it is not easier than we expect because we already got used to our life. That is why I think we need two things to change.

Victorian Novels is one of the classes I am taking for this semester. Among a handful of books that I have studied in this course, I found Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights particularly attractive. Filled with Victorian rhetorics and archaic expressions, the book was a quite challenge to read through. But the reading was rather a pleasing task than a painful one because of its eccentric plots and mysterious atmosphere.

Learning about the author of Wuthering Heights was equally interesting. ...

To date, most of the English language instruction carried out in public schools has been oriented around reading and grammar skills. How do you think the next generation of teachers in Korea could ensure that teaching approaches incorporate a more even balance (and integration) of skills?

Until now, most students have learned only receptive skill(reading, listening, grammar, memorizing vocabulary and idioms). It is helpful to improve students' English ability. However It is placed ...

Consider the following statement:

It is impossible to implement effective English language instruction in Korean schools on account of the student to teacher ratio in each class. Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Why or why not? Use reasons and examples to support your opinion.

Many people believe that class size in Korean schools is too big to implement effective English language instruction. As of today, there are an average of 35 students in every Korean public school classroom. ...

My personal impression of Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights

Wuthering Heights mainly illustrates outrageous love and hate of a man against a backdrop of wilderness in desolate, dreary Yorkshire. Especially, all of these has its origin in love between Heathcliff and Catherine. Heathcliff and Catherine's love is an extraordinarily special one, compared to other kind of novels. I would like to set out these questions first: How can a person love his/her counterparts so intensely? and Is it desirable ...

Beloved: Black Slaves’ lives

Can human being be an owner of human being? This semester, I am taking the class, Modern American Novels. You might remind something lovely when you hear the title, Beloved. So did I. However, this book is about miserable black slaves’ lives. Actually, I have never thought about black slaves before because Korean history and society is not related to the black people. However, after reading Beloved, I changed my mind. The history of black slaves is about ...
